Fine Fonts of originality and distinction

Terms and conditions

In the following the word 'fonts' refers to the fonts designed and created by Fine Fonts. The word 'purchase' refers in all cases to the purchase of a licence.

The fonts purchased from Fine Fonts are and remain the property of Fine Fonts at all times and in any event. By purchasing the fonts from the Fine Fonts web site, the buyer buys a licence to use them and accepts these terms and conditions in their entirety and without exception.

The fonts developed, distributed and sold by Fine Fonts and any accompanying materials are protected by copyright. They contain proprietary information belonging to Fine Fonts.

Copying of Fonts

Unauthorised copying and/or modification of these fonts is expressly forbidden with the two exceptions of

  1. the creation of backup copies and
  2. to provide the fonts to third parties working on behalf of the purchaser as described below.

You may be held legally responsible for any infringement of Fine Fonts' intellectual property rights.

Limitations of Liability

The fonts developed and purchased from Fine Fonts are licensed to the user on an 'as is' basis. Fine Fonts cannot and will not be held responsible for any losses arising from their use or misuse. The purchaser uses the fonts entirely at their own risk. They are supplied without any warranty or guarantee of fitness for purpose. The maximum compensation payable to any user in the event of a malfunction is limited to the purchase price of the fonts.

Allowed uses

You may use the licensed fonts to create images on any surface such as computer screens, paper, web pages, photographs, movie credits, printed material, T-shirts, and other surfaces. You may use the licensed fonts to create EPS files and PDF files or other scalable drawings provided that the fonts are not embedded in their entirety but are subsetted. That is only the characters used in the file are embedded within the file so that the original font or fonts cannot be retrieved or recovered in any way.

Number of users

The maximum number of simultaneous users is specified in the applicable receipt. All users must belong to the same company or the same household purchasing the font.

Third parties

You may provide the font to a graphic designer, printer or other service bureau that is working on your behalf only if they agree to use the font exclusively for your work and agree to the terms of this license and retain no copies of the font on completion of the work. You may not provide the font or make it accessible to any other third parties.

You may embed the licensed fonts into any document you send to third parties provided the fonts are subsetted as described in the section entitled Allowed Uses. Such documents may be viewed and printed (but not edited) by the recipients. You may not under any circumstances embed the licensed fonts into software or hardware products in which the fonts will be used by the purchasers of the products. Such use requires a different license which may be offered by Fine Fonts.

You may import characters from the font as graphical objects into design/drawing programs and modify such graphical objects. You may not modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works based on the licensed fonts without the prior written consent of Fine Fonts.

Fine fonts will, at their discretion, assist and provide support to purchasers of their fonts should the need arise. Support can be obtained by emailing Fine Fonts at support@finefonts.com.
